Millennium Walk Tree Surgery Begins after Storm Goretti Damage

Work has begun to repair storm damage to the Millennium Walk, with four different tree surgeons scheduled to carry out five weeks of intensive work to make the route safe again following Storm Goretti.

The walk remains closed while teams deal with extensive damage caused by fallen and unstable trees.

Customer Services Manager Tania Sargent said:

“We know just how much the Millennium Walk means to the community – it’s a special place and one we care about deeply too. The damage from Storm Goretti is significant, and safety has to come first. That’s why this work will take time, but it’s essential to make sure the walk can be enjoyed safely again.”

Tree surgeons have been in high demand across the island since the storm, contributing to the length of the repair programme.

Updates will be shared over the coming weeks, including further information on reopening once a clearer timescale is available.
