Bulwer Avenue and Longue Hougue junction single lane in New Year

A temporary traffic light control system reducing the road to a single lane will be in place for three weeks at the Bulwer Avenue and Longue Hougue junction from Tuesday 3 January 2017.

During this time Guernsey Water will be working on repairs to the rising main as part of its ongoing St Sampson Harbour wastewater catchment upgrade project.

Mark Walker, Capital Delivery Manager for Guernsey Water said: "We appreciate this work will inevitably cause some disruption to road users and would therefore recommend that the area is avoided at the beginning of the year, particularly during peak hours.

"We apologise in advance and will try hard to keep the disruption as minimal as possible."

This major capital project began in January 2016.  Here Guernsey Water is investing £2 million in improving the wastewater catchment around St Sampson Harbour.

This project is the biggest in the company's 10-year Business Plan (2016 -2025 launched in April 2016) and is a combination of stages that will deliver effective drainage to protect the island's environment by reducing the risk of sewer flooding and pollution.
