Metered water charges are calculated on the recorded amount of water passing through the property's meter

Unmeasured (Unmetered) Water Supplies (2023)
Unmeasured clean water charges are calculated using the Tax on Real Property (TRP) value of a domestic building (land, outbuildings and greenhouses are excluded from Guernsey Water's calculations).

Water supplies which include the following uses must be metered:
- Unattended garden hoses, garden sprinklers or automatic irrigation
- The filling or topping up of swimming pools, spa pools or jacuzzis
- Substantial building or construction works
- Any commercial use
It is the customer's duty to inform Guernsey Water of any use of water for the purposes listed above
Cesspit Emptying Rates (2023)
Subsidised single load rate: £7.83
Standard single load rate: £23.42
There may be times where you require an emergency collection, if, for example, your cesspit is at risk of overflowing as the result of increased water usage. Emergency collections can be arranged by calling 229500 anytime of day. An emergency collection will be collected within 4 hours of being reported. Call outs for emergency collections are charged at £40.00 during working hours and £96.00 outside of working hours (2023 rate).
Customers with no wastewater facility
Customers with no drainage connection, either direct to the sewer or via cesspit are able to apply for a wastewater exemption. Applications can be made in writing to The Customer Liaison Team, PO Box 30, Brickfield House, St Andrew, GY1 3AS. Or via email to customer.liaison@water.gg
New Water Services
New services are installed by Guernsey Water and connected onto the existing water main in the road. Once installed, this service is then connected onto the pipework on your property boundary. Pipework on your property must be laid ahead of the new service installation by yourself, or by a private contractor on your behalf. The cost of a new service is £1,629.00.
