St Saviour's reservoir dam walkway due to reopen next week

The St Saviour's reservoir dam walkway and eastern car park off Rue a L'or is due to reopen at the end of next week (Sunday 30 October) following the completion of essential maintenance work.

The work, contracted by Guernsey Water to local civil engineering company Geomarine, has been undertaken to ensure all joints and minor surface cracks within the walkway and parapet walls were sealed.

Mark Walker, capital delivery manager of Guernsey Water said; "The maintenance to the dam has gone very well and has ensured that the walkway will be totally compliant with health and safety and dam regulations standards for years to come. The closure has been slightly longer than expected due to the scope of work being extended to cover other potential defects in the walkway.

"This work was purely preventative; it has ensured that the dam is in no danger of developing any problems in the future."
